Traditional Plum Pudding Recipe for Christmas

Ingredients

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ½ cup currants
  • ¼ cup chopped Dolce Frutti Barhi dates
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp fresh Dolce Frutti Marsh Ruby Blush Grapefruit juice
  • 1 tsp grapefruit zest (optional, very light)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • Pinch of salt

Traditional Plum Pudding Recipe

  1. Combine breadcrumbs, flour, brown sugar, raisins, currants, and chopped dates in a large bowl.
  2. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, salt, and mix well.
  3. Mix in the softened butter until the mixture becomes crumbly
  4. Now, beat the eggs in a separate bowl until foam is formed. Once done, add them to the mixture along with milk. 
  5. Pour in the fresh Marsh Ruby Grapefruit juice and mix until fully combined.
  6. Grease a pudding bowl with a little bit of butter, and pour your pudding mixture in. 
  7. Cover tightly and steam for 2 to 2½ hours. However, make sure to check the water level after every few minutes.
  8. Once cooked, allow the pudding to cool slightly before unmolding. Serve with custard or cream.
